Are you experiencing sensory overrides in your business?

Is your personal and business world in sensory override?

Did you know that in the 17th century, philosophers and great thinkers openly discussed the idea that we have an innate need to develop our minds?

In fact, historical philosophers wrote extensively about the formation of your mind. However, they also found themselves concerned about the level of interference and overload impacting the mind development of communities, education, people, and society.

For humans we can easily distort the time between our birth, childhood to adolescence and being at our refined purpose is deemed short. Nature teaches us and shows us what is possible when there is a distinct purpose or point to our existence.

Philosophers from all those years ago, centuries, still believed that the world they were part of was suffering from a sensory overload experience. In Scotland's 17th and 18th centuries, one of the priorities in our communities was to ensure that all humans had the opportunity to learn to read and become literate. At the time in question, a person’s ability to work out what is considered fundamental today was seen as underdeveloped.

Fundamental areas of ability?

Warning, some of these areas are challenging:

  • Your moral code, values, or honour.

  • Your ability to discover critical feelings, and brain experiences, learn from them and master them.

  • Your spiritual awakening.

  • Your awareness of the things that influence you internally and externally, in your mind.

  • Your ability to master your inner world and dilute, manage, and control external influences.

Despite these far-reaching considerations, the thinkers of the time still thought humans were at risk of being overloaded, thus at risk of having little or no control over their personal feelings wrapped in desire, joy, the very pursuit of delight, anger, peace, lust and more.

Can you imagine what they would think of our world today?

History and the future collide as we experience sensory overrides occurring in our lives?

Technology impacts every part of our existence; we are stimulated from every aspect, including aural, visual, and mental stimuli. We are offered a choice in every aspect of our life.

The truth is that we will all be challenged by the internal mastery of our minds, private thinking, thoughts, and the inner world for as long as we live. But, professionally and personally, we share one timeless truth, no matter how old you are or how much experience you have in both areas. Your mental ability to find your balance directly determines the world you form, build, and make on the outside of your head.

Ask yourself:

A- APPLY: What could you apply from this? Have you considered spending 1 hour a day reading and reflecting on the things that bring your life balance?

B-    CHANGE: An over-ridden sensory world is not productive > what 1 thing could you do to adjust this in your life and work?

C-    TEACH: What things have you learned that work for you? Could you teach someone else?

Our choices define us, our thoughts define our choices, and our thoughts and mind are vital to future success and balance and tranquillity today.

What will you choose?
